Capt. Edward B. Tipton, 1941/42
Biographical information for Captain Edward B. Tipton:
Born November 1, 1914 in Mt. Enterprise, TX, raised in Jacksonville, TX.
Three children: two daughters from his 36 year marriage to Gertrude B.
Tipton, Patricia Carol Tipton Wilcox and Hilde Kathleen Tipton Lark, and
a son, George, from a very early relationship. Captain Tipton served in
the 9th Air Force, 386th bomb group, and received the Distinguished
Flying Cross, Air Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, and the EAME Campaign
Medal with one Bronze Service Star. Honorably Discharged in 1945, and
went on to a career as an executive with Exxon Mobile. Captain Tipton
died in 1976.

I believe this to be a picture of the B-26 "Touch of Texas" during combat.
He labeled the back of the picture "Combat." ("Touch O' Texas
