Will try to list identity of crew. Top photo, Pix 1: Don't recall name of left figure. Then l to r: Nav. Bomb. Dwight Edwards; Radio op-gunner Phil Scheier; Engineer-Gunner Doug Bowell; Pilot Luther Hargroves. Crouching in front is Tail Gunner Jimmy Myers. Can't really identify those in Pictures 2 and 3, though faces recalled. Bottom Pix: Don't recall those standing. Kneeling, l-r: Pilot Art Smith, Radio op-Gunner Ken Brown, Engineer-Gunner Manuel Duran As noted in my earlier message, we original flight members of the 456th who arrived in England in May, 1943, were all in the near 50-mission mark, as shown by the Crew 13 photo showing missions. And the bulk of these flying members were about to be temporarily rotated back to the states for a 30-day leave, and then return to the 456th, as I was. I will forward these photos to 456th pilot John Hurt and Russ Linger, who may better fill in missing names. Thanks again, good friend. Phil Scheier |
